'The shop is an opulent art work of itself…' quoted 'The Guide' magazine in October 2005.
Designed and decorated by Johnny and Niall, they created their vision of a high-class boutique with the refined and intimate elegance of a 1920's salon, combined with the practicalities of a workshop. Situated in the Regency grandeur of Greenwich village in a World Heritage Grade 1 listed building, the shop is luxurious yet relaxed.
'The Johnny Rocket store is a marvellous mix of contemporary, if not futuristic, touches, and nostalgic romanticism.' Quoted 'Retail Jeweller' in January 2006.
The shop features art deco wallpaper, specially designed rose wood cabinets and a red velvet sofa to entice and seduce the shopper. Red vases are filled with fresh flowers at the handcrafted rose wood till point which faces a beautiful French moulded mirror. The attention to detail is evident in aspects such as the floor window at the front window making it possible to look down in to the workshop and the floor length French window at the rear of the shop installed so customers have an exclusive and stunning view of the Cutty Sark.
The evidence for the impact of the gallery's combination of exceptional service and unique décor, has been it's inclusion in the top 30 shops in British VOGUE's Greatest Shopping Secrets - after only 2 month's trading.
Unlike other brand boutiques, as well as featuring own label designs and offering a bespoke service from their on site workshop, the store also acts as a gallery showcasing over 30 hand picked designers. This diverse jewellery choice includes established companies such as Steven Webster, Tatty Devine, Missoma and Tina Lilienthal alongside up and coming young designers such as Hannah Martin and Daisuke. The jewellery is displayed in an unorthodox and alluring manner. What also sets this shop aside from any other is the manner of staff and over all atmosphere of the shop. Johnny Rocket makes their clients feel at ease.
"Gorgeous, a modern eclectic and highly original vision of the direction jewellery is going" "Totally unique displays" - Vogue
